Before a contractor comes on site, someone has to be satisfied that they are suitable. Accreditations are one way of showing that. They are also a lot of acronyms.
Why accreditations matter
Site owners and facilities teams often ask contractors to hold recognised accreditations, because it gives a common starting point for checking suitability before work begins. It does not replace your own checks, but it can make them quicker.
What the main ones are
- SafeContractor is a health and safety accreditation scheme for contractors.
- Avetta is a platform that helps organisations manage contractor and supplier compliance.
- Constructionline is a supplier pre-qualification service.
- ATEX relates to equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres. A Certified ATEX Repairer is relevant where motors are used in those areas.
What EES Electro-Mechanical holds
EES Electro-Mechanical is SafeContractor Approved, an Avetta Member, a Certified ATEX Repairer, PQS Approved and a Constructionline Silver Member. We are also an MPQC accredited member.
Using this when you appoint a contractor
If you are appointing a contractor for motor, pump, gearbox, or drives and controls work in Greater Manchester or the North West, ask for their accreditations up front, and check the details with the issuing body where you need to.
